At Munco, we are guided by the ethics of real, deep, and measurable change. We focus on authentic outcomes that reflect the well-being of individuals and communities. Every decision—from design to implementation—is collaborative, inclusive, and rooted in one fundamental question:
Does this contribute to people’s well-being?
This question drives us to reflect on the impact of our actions and connects us directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—a global roadmap for building a more just, equitable, and regenerative world.
We believe true transformation happens when people are active participants in their own change. That’s why we work with communities, not for them—ensuring voices are heard, decisions are shared, and benefits are distributed fairly.
Below, we share how Munco contributes to four key SDGs. From reducing inequality to building sustainable cities, each goal is deeply woven into our mission. Through concrete, long-term initiatives, we don’t just aim to meet these goals—we aim to inspire others to join this collective effort for a better future for all.

1. Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
In many places, work is precarious: dangerous conditions, low wages, and a lack of basic rights. Workers are often forced to choose between survival and dignity—spending long hours in alienating jobs that offer no fulfillment or recognition.
At Munco, people’s well-being comes first. We believe work should be a source of dignity, growth, and purpose—not exhaustion.
Our principles are clear:
Zero occupational injuries: rigorous safety protocols ensure every member returns home safely each day.
Inclusive hiring for people with disabilities: we provide real adaptations in space, time, and tools—not symbolic gestures.
Fair pay for all hours worked: everyone is compensated fairly, without exception.
Training for out-of-school youth: we offer skill-building in design, architecture, manufacturing, and art—with no prior experience or degrees required.
Social security access: once formally established, all cooperative members will be enrolled in Mexico’s national health and pension system (IMSS)
We reject forced labor, modern slavery, and exploitative practices. Our vision is a future where work means dignity, respect, and opportunity for all—especially for migrant workers, women, and those in informal jobs.

2. Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)
Inequality is not accidental. It is a deliberate, structural system that concentrates wealth, power, and opportunity in the hands of a few—while millions struggle to survive with the bare minimum.
At Munco, we break this system at its roots.
We operate as a cooperative-in-formation: no owners, no shareholders, no bosses who hoard profits. Instead, all wealth generated is shared equitably among members, based on time, responsibility, and commitment.
This model does more than redistribute income—it democratizes decision-making. Every person has an equal voice and vote, regardless of age, background, education, or identity. What matters is participation and care for the collective.
This approach has real-world impact:
Increases income for those historically excluded from formal markets.
Reduces economic and power gaps across gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and social class.
Strengthens economic autonomy for women, LGBTQ+ people, migrants, and youth in vulnerable situations.
Discrimination has no place here. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy against harassment or exclusion based on gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or social status. This isn’t just policy—it’s a living practice, monitored and upheld by all members.

3. Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)
Cities should not be machines of extraction. They should be human, safe, and dignified homes—where people thrive, not just survive.
At Munco, we believe everyone deserves access to affordable, sustainable housing connected to nature. Our circular economy doesn’t just generate income—it creates spaces designed for those living in precarious conditions.
Our vision includes:
Housing cooperatives, where members co-own and co-manage sustainable homes.
Strategic locations near public transit, bike lanes, and essential services
Free, safe collective transportation where public options are lacking—ensuring short commutes and more time for life.
Protected green areas in every project, featuring native plants, rainwater harvesting, and communal recreation spaces.
Guaranteed access to clean air, clean water, renewable energy, and quality basic services.
We envision cities where you don’t have to choose between work and living close to home—where the right to the city is universal, not a privilege for the wealthy.

4. Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12)
The planet cannot sustain linear “take-make-waste” models. At Munco, we’re building a true circular economy—where nothing becomes waste, and every material re-enters the cycle of use.
Our commitments include:can transformar nuestra manera de operar y fomentar una cultura de sostenibilidad:
Minimizing solid waste across all operations.
100% composting of organic plant-based waste—and soon, all organic waste.
Material reuse: wood, metal, fabric, and other inputs from one project become raw materials for another (e.g., architecture leftovers feed manufacturing; design scraps inspire art).
No planned obsolescence: we create durable, repairable, adaptable objects meant to last generations.
Education on conscious consumption: we promote non-toxic materials, avoid single-use plastics, and encourage repair, sharing, and care.
We’re also developing a data analysis unit to measure our environmental and social impact—so we can continuously improve, set meaningful targets, and hold ourselves accountable.
For us, responsible production isn’t optional. It’s an ethical obligation.
